WHAT IS THE O-SHOT?
Sometimes referred to as “orgasm therapy” or the “Fem-Shot,” the O-Shot is a non-surgical, natural approach to rejuvenating vaginal tissue. The O-Shot provides functional and cosmetic benefits for a wide range of female sexual health concerns.
A woman’s sexual drive and/or sexual performance can be disrupted by pregnancy and childbirth, age-related hormonal changes, and other factors. Many women who experience unwanted changes in their sexual experience do not seek treatment, as they associate vaginal rejuvenation with invasive surgical procedures like labiaplasty and vaginoplasty.
While some conditions necessitate surgical intervention, many women can improve their sexual health and achieve their aesthetic goals with O-Shot treatments. The O-Shot is an injectable treatment that contains platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from the patient’s blood. It also includes exosomes and stem cells which have significant healing and regenerative benefits.
This injectable treatment is often recommended for women who want to:
- Heighten clitoral and G-spot sensitivity
- Mitigate age-related sexual dysfunction, such as low libido
- Treat vaginal dryness
- Resolve urinary incontinence symptoms
- Experience more intense orgasms
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE O-SHOT?
Most women who are in good general health can be candidates for the O-Shot. Since PRP and exosomes are native to your body, there is no risk of allergic reaction.
Women of many ages can be candidates for the O-Shot. A large number of candidates are menopausal women who are concerned about a decreased libido, vaginal dryness, and/or difficulty stimulating the G-spot and/or clitoris for a satisfying sexual experience.
Younger women seeking more intense orgasms can also be candidates, along with women who have had children and want to address unwanted changes related to pregnancy and childbirth.
Women who suffer from stress urinary incontinence can be candidates as well. PRP can encourage healing in the urethra when injected into the clitoral area.
The Fem-Shot cannot resolve severe tissue laxity concerns, eliminate excess tissue, or correct extreme pelvic floor muscle issues. However, it can be used to support and maintain optimal results after a “down under” surgery.
The Woman’s 5 Sex-Pleasure Problems & Why Doctors Stay Silent…
- Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (usually but not always accompanies Sexual Desire Disorder). Women who suffer with this may want to have sex but have much difficulty finding the pleasure of arousal. The 5% incidence doesn’t sound like much until you think about it–that’s the same as one in 20!
- Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (Low desire). Remember, that this is not counted a disorder unless it’s disrupting the woman’s life. Around 10% of women suffer with this problem. Important: Suffering with a sexual disorder does not simply make sex not fun. Better sex leads to more energy, more creativity, increased confidence, less depression, and improved overall health.
- Female Orgasmic Disorder: Again around 1 in 20 (or 5%). Here women can become aroused but have much difficulty with orgasm. This can be so frustrating that sex becomes a frustration that they avoid.
- Dyspareunia: Here the woman suffers with real pain with sex (not from decreased lubrication or vaginal spasm). The incidence is from around 1 in 10 to 1 in 5 women. (The above shocking statistics came from Obstetrics & Gynecology April 2011)
- Genital Mismatch can contribute to both Female Orgasmic Disorder & to Dyspareunia
HOW DOES THE O-SHOT WORK?
The O-Shot delivers a high concentration of powerful regenerative components to the vaginal area. The rejuvenating, reinvigorating effects of the O-Shot are a direct result of:
- PRP – The growth factors, platelets, and proteins in PRP injections have demonstrated a wide range of medical applications since their initial use for supporting expedient wound healing. PRP encourages accelerated cellular turnover to repopulate the vaginal tissue with healthy, responsive cells. It also encourages increased production of collagen for long-term improvements in skin tone and texture and initiates the formation of new blood vessels and nerves. These effects work to increase arousal and visibly rejuvenate tissue.
- Exosomes – Exosomes are miniscule vesicles that transport vital proteins and genetic information between cells. Stem cell exosomes contain pivotal regenerative qualities, instructing the body to heal itself. This component of the O-Shot helps to deliver growth factors to the targeted cells.
HOW MANY O-SHOT TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
A series of initial treatments spaced one to three months apart is often recommended to build up to your desired improvements. To maintain your results, follow-up treatments can be scheduled about every six months.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE O-SHOT TREATMENT
There is no need for general anesthesia or sedation, so you will be able to return home immediately after your appointment.
To begin, blood will be drawn in the same way as if you were getting bloodwork done. A centrifuge is then used to rapidly spin your blood in order to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components of the blood.
Depending on your treatment goals, injections will be made in the labia, the clitoral hood, and/or the internal vaginal canal. Patients often report a mild burning sensation with each injection that dissipates within about five to 15 minutes.
WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE AFTER AN O-SHOT TREATMENT
No significant downtime is associated with the O-Shot. Redness, tenderness, and/or irritation may occur at the injection sites. These symptoms are typically minor and resolve quickly.
A smaller number of women report mild bruising and swelling after an injection session. Since the injections add volume to the treated tissue, some patients notice a feeling of pressure for a short time after their injections.
